Description

Deponie Leeste: New ringing site since Oktober 2024, old landfill with a mix of habitats. Some larger patches of reed on the top, blackberry, hawthorn and roses at the flanks and surrounding bushes, trees.

Leester Marsch: public marshland, mostly agricultural fields, some meadows, drainage ditches with reeds. In winter sometimes very wet with floodings and large areas of water on the fields, resulting in waders and roosting places for ducks, geese and other species.

We catch with Nets both day and night at the landfill and use thermal imagers to catch waders and other species at night at the fields.
